cool question – to be honest, I don’t know and if you ask the majority of engineers/scientists out there they don’t know either. They talk of other dimensions, they talk about the extreme pressures involved, space-time continuum etc etc. In fact in some cases it might get thrown back at you. It’s all theory so the answers you will get will be purely based on theory – but isn’t this why we want to investigate such things, to move away from theory and have facts. I find the idea of travelling through a black hole to be mind boggling in its concept. To see the recent press release which talks about the merging of two black holes giving off a major gravitational wave which could be measured from Earth shows how awesome black holes are.
