Well if there was no water on Earth there would be no life, so we would not be having this chat! Life emerged out of the oceans manymany millions of years ago. Now the plankton in the ocean is the bottom of the food chain. Very small fish eat it, bigger fish eat them, seals, whales, dolphins, humans eat these bigger fish, polar bears wat seals, etc, etc, so all is connected. Also the plankton in the oceans releases more than half the oxygen we breathe, so without that microscopic plant, we would not be here. So next time you turn on the tap, think about the importance of that colourless liquid!
